Voices Against Rape & Sexual Harassment

A fifteen year old boy has been reported to have forcefully have a carnal knowledge of a three year old girl. The incident according to witnesses occurred on Saturday in Osi Ekiti, Ido Osi Local government area of Ekiti state. The incident came barely a day after several cases of rape were reported in some parts of the country in which one of the victims was killed. Roundoffnews gathered that the young boy lured the girl with a confectionary known as chin-chin to the room where he performed the dastardly act. What could be responsible for his action is yet unknown but it was gathered that the matter has been reported to the police while the office of the Wife of the Ekiti State Governor Erelu Bisi Fayemi has been notified and necessary investigation has commenced. An undergraduate of the University of Benin has died after being raped inside a parish of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, sparking outrage on social media. On May 27, 2020, the victim, Uwa Omozuwa, was said to have visited the RCCG, Edo Province 10, Ikpoba Hill, Benin, where she was reading. The incident was said to have occurred at Limawa quarters in Dutse Local Government Area of the state.  Spokesperson for the police in Jigawa, SP Abdu Jinjiri, who confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters on Sunday, explained that all 11 suspects have been arrested and confessed to the offence. Jinjiri said they were arrested on May 25 after the police in the area received a complaint that one Alhaji Zuwai, a 57-year-old man from Ma’ai Village under Dutse Local Government Area, was seen at Limawa Market trying to lure a 12-year-old girl of the same address to a hidden place to have intercourse with her. He said the police arrested the suspect and in the course of interrogation, the girl mentioned 11 persons, who had raped her on different occasions. The case is still under investigation at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Dutse, the capital.
